New Photo Fare Cards Introduced For UC*Metro
Beginning with Spring Term 2010, Metro will distribute an updated fare card to UC students and staff who purchase transportation through the UC*Metro program. The new card will display the UC rider's name and photograph on the face of the card. There is no need to have a new photograph taken; Metro will imprint the same photo used on the individual's UC ID.
"This improvement will eliminate the need for UC riders to show their UC Photo ID Card to the bus driver as of March 29," said Rick Wiggins, director of UC Facilities Management and coordinator of the UC*Metro program.
Registration for Spring Term 2010 UC/Metro Fare Cards begins Tuesday, March 16, 2010. There are no changes to costs and cash drops from winter quarter.
The last day to use Winter Term 2010 UC/Metro Fare Cards is Sunday, March 28, 2010.
