'Kitchen Gallery' a Group Invitational Exhibition in Park National Bank Art Gallery
Kitchen Gallery, a group invitational exhibition, curated by UC Clermont College, assistant professor of fine arts, Kim Taylor, is currently featured in the Park National Bank Art Gallery at UC Clermont College from May 4 - 21. An opening reception along with a cooking performance will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 12:30 2:30 p.m.
Anthelme Brillat-Savarin, the 19th century French gastronome, wrote in The Physiology of Taste, Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what we are. This simple statement is true in that what people eat and the way its eaten is as much a reflection of societys culture as art, language or religion. Its with this idea in mind that the Park National Bank Art Gallery has organized Kitchen Gallery, a group invitational exhibition that explores the influence of food in art.

The exhibition presents a broad range of artists, local, national and international, many finding inspiration through other cultural junctures. The exhibition includes diverse mediums of art ranging from traditional painting, collage and photography to installation pieces such as a dining room display, a kitchen love story on video and an installation called Serve & Project which is a result of more than 24 artists from across the globe who have created art work on simple napkins. The opening reception is highlighted by a cooking performance by artist and faculty member Lisa Siders-Kenney.
Participating artists include:
Amy Burrell, Kelly Frigard, Adriana Galvez, Christopher Land, Kelly McCollam, James Oberschlake, Amanda Parker-Woolery, Sara Pearce, Kim Taylor, Kristan Taylor, Nishiki Tayui, John Wolfer, Jenny Ustick, Bruno Zabaglio and Io Palmer and Lisa Link who organized the installation of Serve & Project.
