College and Career Track Overview

The College and Career Track program offers curated collections of recommended classes designed to introduce you to a future career field or major. Each Track consists of two tiers, each made up of approximately 15 credits. By participating in a College and Career Track, you align your college coursework with UC majors, allowing you to complete up to 30 credits toward your desired degree. We encourage flexible completion; it is not suggested or required for students to complete an entire tier within one semester. Additionally, completion of Tier 1 does not mandate participation in Tier 2. It is acceptable to enroll in a College and Career track with the intention of completing only Tier 1. Enrolling in a College and Career track is not a requirement for College Credit Plus (CCP) or future major participation.

While you will earn credits towards the major associated with the specific College and Career Track you are enrolled in, we cannot guarantee time off of a future degree or promise financial savings.

Eligibility

Courses within the College and Career tracks are offered on campus or online through the University of Cincinnati. To be eligible to take these courses, you must be admitted to the CCP program at the University of Cincinnati. You must meet the CCP eligibility requirements. Upon acceptance into CCP, students are required to successfully complete the Canvas Orientation course. Any CCP student that has completed the Canvas Orientation course and is in good academic standing is eligible to participate in a College and Career Track.

Starting Fall 2026, students must enroll in their College and Career Track of interest before completing over 60% of Tier 1. Students who complete over 60% of the coursework outside of Track enrollment and in absence of the suggested order will not be eligible to enroll or earn the associated digital pennant. Exceptions will be made on an individual basis and must be approved in writing before students are eligible to earn the associated digital pennant.

Participation

Track participation is voluntary and begins after enrollment into the College and Career Track program. You are not required to take classes every semester but are permitted to. Before students can enroll in Track courses, they must complete a mandatory advising appointment with their advisor. In observance of the CCP Policy, any student that does not complete a mandatory advising appointment by the advising deadline of the semester in question is not eligible to take courses. No exceptions will be made. For more information about this policy, please visit the CCP website.

Upon successful completion of the entire tier in the Track you are enrolled in, you will receive a digital pennant awarded by the University of Cincinnati. This digital pennant acknowledges the accomplishment and achievement you have made. Additionally, it will show future employers and educators your capability to successfully take pertinent courses. Successful completion of an entire College and Career Track will result in two digital pennants, one from the completion of Teir 1, and one from the completion of Tier 2.

The expectation of College and Career Track enrollment is that students are completing their required credit through participation in University of Cincinnati’s College Credit Plus Program. We understand that students may also have previously earned Advanced Placement credits or credits from another university. Allowable transfer credit is as follows: a maximum of 40% of track coursework may be completed through AP credit and a maximum of 25% may be transferred from another university. Exceptions will be made on an individual basis and must be approved in writing before students are eligible to earn the associated digital pennant.

Conduct Policy

While participation in a College and Career Track is voluntary, continued enrollment is dependent on student performance. Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 and a successful course completion rate of at least 67%. If a student falls below this threshold, they will be placed on CCP probation. Any student who is placed on probation and unable to improve their standing in subsequent semesters can be removed from the College and Career Track program. The student will still be eligible to remain a participant in College Credit Plus. We encourage you to seek academic support if you face challenges in maintaining the required GPA.

Special Permissions

Each track is comprised of courses that have been carefully chosen, deliberately discussed and agreed upon with the associated majors and colleges. Once you enroll in a track, you are expected to abide by these course selections. While you are permitted to take courses outside of the tiers, you will need to complete permission forms. If you decide to enroll in courses outside of those designated in the College and Career Track you are enrolled in, you are acknowledging that these courses will not be associated with an award and are not guaranteed to satisfy a future major requirement. Any course substitutions need to be thoroughly discussed with your CCP academic advisor. Unavailability and timing issues do not warrant a substitution. To earn a digital pennant, all track courses need to be completed.

By enrolling in a College and Career Track, you agree to the above terms and conditions. Please review these carefully and feel free to contact the Launch UC program at CCP@UC.EDU if you have any questions.
