LT@UC Conference
Faculty, staff and graduate students from the University of Cincinnati are invited to submit proposals for the eighth-annual Learning and Teaching at UC Conference (LT@UC), to be held on May 22, 2025 at the Tangeman University Center on UC's Clifton Campus through UC's internal Bearcats Landing site. This year's theme is Bridging Boundaries in College Teaching, and will be devoted to sharing teaching practices that actively connect different areas of knowledge, perspectives, experiences or technologies to promote deep understanding that lasts.
As higher education evolves, faculty must navigate rapid technological advances, increasing interdisciplinarity, and the growing diversity of student populations. Bridging boundaries in college teaching helps to address these challenges by actively working to create new learning spaces beyond traditional divides. Instructors who bridge boundaries integrate different fields of knowledge, perspectives, experiences, or technologies. Some bridge boundaries by co-teaching with instructors from different disciplines or community partners. Others relate to their students in new ways by co-creating learning experiences with them, focusing on real-world problem-solving, or using adaptive learning platforms to create more engaging online learning experiences. Ultimately, the goal of bridging boundaries is to create more holistic learning environments by fostering collaboration, critical thinking, real-world applications, and deep understanding.
The conference this year is a collaboration between The Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CET&L), The Academy of Fellows for Teaching and Learning (AFTL), UC Online, the UC Clermont Faculty Engagement Center, the UC Clermont Center for Teaching, Learning and Innovation, and the UC Blue Ash Learning and Teaching Center. The conference will consist of two keynote speakers, concurrent sessions, and poster presentations. In addition, breakfast and lunch will be provided, and door prizes will be given out at the end of the conference.
The in-person conference is FREE for all members of the UC community. Registration will open in late March and be limited to 300 participants.
