Jan Davidsz. de Heem is one of the most important 17th-century Dutch still-life painters. Born in Utrecht in 1606, he was a mediator between Dutch and Flemish art. He combines Dutch restraint in composition and coloring with strong Flemish colors and exuberant and lush picture arrangements. In the table presented here, a delicately graduated palette of gray-brown and green tints with the yellow accent of a lemon are typical of Dutch painting. Come join this class to paint your interpretation of this exquisite Dutch still life painting from the 17th century.
One gallery-wrapped, stretched 11 x 14” fine art canvas, a set of brushes, and a full set of acrylic paints in a wide spectrum of colors are included in the class fee. Take home your own original piece of art ready for framing.
