Supportive Measures
Supportive measures are non-disciplinary, non-punitive individualized services offered as appropriate, as reasonably available, and without fee or charge to the parties, before or after the filing of a Formal Complaint or where no Formal Complaint has been filed. Such measures are designed to restore or preserve equal access to the University’s education program or activity without unreasonably burdening the other Party, including measures designed to protect the safety of all Parties or the University’s educational environment or to deter harassment.
Supportive measures may be available upon receipt of a report made to the Office of Equal Opportunity. Available supportive measures include, but are not limited to:
- Restrictions on contact between the respondent and complainant ("Mutual No Contact Orders")
- Changes in academic or living situations (where appropriate)
- Changes in university-related work schedules or job assignments
- Acess to counseling, health, and mental health services at no cost
- Academic support
- Escort services
Individuals who would like to request additional supportive measures or who experience difficulty obtaining supportive measures that they have been approved to receive should contact the Title IX Coordinator or a Deputy Title IX Coordinator.
Protective measures also may be available by filing a complaint with law enforcement. For example, police departments may provide civil protection orders and other measures when criminal complaints are filed.
