UC Costs 2024-25
Tuition amounts are set by the university, though college, program level (undergraduate, graduate or professional), or the course of study itself may involve specialized fees. In addition to the overview below, it may be helpful to view Bursar Website to view details on your program and be aware of any college-specific fees.
Year amounts shown would be the typical fall + spring semesters as summer is generally optional. Full-time enrollment year-round would be 3x term rate or year + term rate.
NOTE: Year-round enrollment may require changes in loan processing.
These charts with information from your Financial Aid Award (including adjustments for part-time or co-op enrollments) can help you in planning for out-of-pocket expenses related to your bill.
Tuition Overview
Tuition costs for 2024-25 will be set by the Board of Trustees in June 2024 and posted here when available.
Tuition is the combined amount for instructional, general, technology, and campus life or distance learning fees as well as appropriate non-resident surcharges.
Undergraduate tuition is determined by your college program location and cohort groups based on your academic year of admission. Cohort groups relate to the Cincinnati Tuition Guarantee that locks in your rate for the length of your program.
Along with the overviews below, more details on specific fees for your program, special course fees, and distance learning program fees are also available via the Bursar Website.
This detail of fees does not replace your individual bill determined each term by your course registration.

Non-Tuition Costs 2024-25
Attending college costs more than just tuition (including program fees). To help you project your non-tuition expenses, the Student Financial Aid Office estimates average amounts for several student groups and cost categories.
Personal expenses vary from student-to-student but understanding these costs help students plan for expenses beyond tuition.
Dependency status is based on federal definition. Estimated costs are based on at least half-time (6 hours per term) attendance.
Housing and food amounts are averages for each tuition guarantee cohort based on when a degree-seeking student first enrolls. Billed housing and food rates for on-campus students will be charged based on actual room assignment and meal plan selection as well as tuition cohort.

M.D. students in College of Medicine have specific estimates with unique breakdowns of miscellaneous expenses determined by their college and the nature of medical education.
Additionally, undergraduate students borrowing student loans will see $37 for loan fees added to their budget or $319 if parents are borrowing a Federal PLUS Loan. Graduate students borrowing loans will see $82 added or $280 added if borrowing a Federal Grad PLUS Loan.
Students and families should consider these costs as well as tuition costs when determining admission confirmation and for financial budgeting.
Students seeking financial aid will have these costs along with tuition used to determine their cost of attendance budget.
Cost of Attending UC
The cost of attending UC consists of direct and indirect costs.
- Direct costs on your semester bill are tuition (listed on your bill as instructional, general, technology, campus life, and program fees), housing and food (billed as room and board for students residing on campus), and health insurance (if minimum insurance coverage is not documented).
- Attending college also includes indirect costs. Non-tuition items such as books and supplies, transportation and parking, personal expenses, and off-campus rent are part of your budget though they will not be billed by the university.
Your overall cost of attendance budget essentially covers costs of tuition through toothpaste. The total amount we budget for a typical new on-campus, full-time undergraduate, Ohio resident for the basic 2-semester academic year on Uptown Campus is $37,795. Though that will not be billed to you.
Remember that what you actually spend in non-billed expenses may differ from the amounts budgeted by the Student Financial Aid Office. You should plan your finances to meet your expenses.
Estimated Aid
While not providing an exact picture of financial aid, the federally required Net Price Calculator can give new undergraduate students an idea of Federal Pell Grant and Federal Direct Loan eligibility prior to an award being made.
At the same time, eligibility for complete aid packages can only be determined following an offer of admission to the university and completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA should be completed as soon after October 1 as possible each year in order to be considered for maximum aid eligibility for limited funding sources. Applications received by December 1 receive priority consideration.
NOTE: See specific information on 2024-25 FAFSA.
