Brand Affiliation Agreements

Are you a faulty or staff member interested in demonstrating an affiliation between UC and an external organization? Examples of this could include representing yourself or your department/program/unit at an external event, providing some type of support/sponsorship of an organization or event, membership in a trade group or other collaborative organization, and more. If any of these apply and you wish to show an affiliation between UC and any other group, please fill out the Brand Affiliation form for review and approval prior to the engagement or affiliation. 

Brand Affiliation Process

  1. Begin the process early to allow sufficient time for review.  
    We recommend at least 60 days prior to the engagement.
  2. Complete the Brand Affiliation Form describing the activity, member organization involved, if any University mark(s) or photos are being requested to use, if any deliverables are involved, and if there are any contracts involved.
  3. The Trademark Licensing and Brand Engagement team will review your request and consult with other relevant parties for additional review to ensure alignment with University policies and brand guidelines. 

 

After the review has been completed, we will e-mail the requestor to confirm if the request has been approved, if any changes are required, or if the request has been denied along with an explanation. If approved, the Trademark Licensing and Brand Engagement Office will also draft an agreement covering the specific rights being granted for use of the University’s brand and send to the relevant parties involved for review and signatures.

 

Note: Approval to use the University's does not allow approval to use the brand again without seeking additional approval. You must submit a new form for each new request.
