Crime Trend Update

Rachel Kleindorfer

CSR NIBRS Offenses

  • We are decreasing across all categories compared to last year.
  • Compared to the 5 yr average, we are increasing by 7% in our property offenses and by 11% in our society offenses

NIBRS Offenses: Society

  • Our main increase is from disorderly conduct. (several instances of students urinating in the garages)

CSR NIBRS Offenses: Person

  • Overall, we are doing pretty well for person offenses with our greatest increase being in aggravated assault but this is only an increase of 3

CSR NIBRS Offenses: Property

  • Beginning to see a shift in the crime trends. In December motor vehicle thefts Kia/Hyundai problem thefts. Now we are seeing fewer cars being stolen and more being broken into and stolen from. A potential contributing factor to this is that most of the at-risk vehicles have had routine maintenance completed and the anti-theft software installed.
