The AI Enablement Community of Practice (AIECOP) is designed to be a collaborative and transformative effort involving key stakeholders from across our university.

We are committed to:

  • Elevating educational experiences to prepare our community for AI’s future challenges.
  • Developing a framework for assessing AI tools and services.
  • Fostering innovation and entrepreneurship through partnerships.
  • Promoting inclusive practices to prevent bias.

Key Initiatives & Plans

The AIECOP aims to advance AI innovation and application across our university and the broader community. Key initiatives and plans include:

  • Enterprise AI Platforms: We will implement cutting-edge Enterprise AI platforms, including OpenAI via Microsoft, to enhance the deployment and integration of AI technologies, optimizing operational efficiency and supporting the university’s Next Lives Here strategic goals.
  • Research Collaboration: Supporting research collaborations to solve complex problems and providing AI resources for our research community.
  • Inclusive Education and Training: Offering educational programs to enhance AI literacy and foster innovation across disciplines.

Governance & Structure

The AI Enablement Community of Practice is comprised of an AI Enablement Team and four standing subcommittees.

  • The AI Enablement Team implements and manages initiatives and manages the Hub’s activities. 
  • Representatives from the academic, research, and administrative functions of the university serve as members of subcommittees focused on the following areas:

Recommends policy and guidelines for the use of AI within teaching, learning, and research. The group will also identify use cases to leverage AI within this domain.

Optimize and streamline the deployment and integration of enterprise AI technologies across the university. The Enterprise AI Enablement team is dedicated to enhancing operational efficiency, automating processes, and improving decision-making to support the university's strategic goals through the effective use of AI tools and solutions.

This group ensures AI tools are used responsibly and effectively to drive success for students, faculty, and staff. Additionally, they are committed to increasing AI awareness and literacy across the university community, with a specific focus on embedding responsible AI practices in all aspects of their work.
