About Esri ArcGIS

UC offers two sets of licenses for Esri ArcGIS—one set is for academic use (teaching, research) and another is for limited administrative use.
Access ArcGIS for Academic Use
UC provides current UC students, faculty, and staff members access to ArcGIS Online (web app) and ArcGIS Pro (Windows desktop app) in a centralized UC ArcGIS Online site.
- Go to UC ArcGIS Online site.
- Select “Sign In” on the top-right side of the page.
- Select the blue “Click Here for Single Sign-On Login” button.
- Enter your UC username and password to login.
ArcGIS Enterprise is a self-hosted complete software system for all your geospatial needs—make maps, analyze geospatial data, and share results to solve problems.
UC’s agreement provides a limited number of ArcGIS Enterprise licenses for use cases that involve sensitive data.
- Request an ArcGIS Enterprise account. Limited licenses available.
ArcGIS for Administrative Use
UC’s agreement with Esri also provides a limited number of licenses to support functions not directly related to teaching and research.
Permitted administrative uses include operational activities such as property management and facilities management, space planning, institutional research, student recruiting, fundraising, and campus security.
- Request an ArcGIS license for administrative use. Limited licenses available.
