UC Adaptive Athletics

The UC Adaptive Athletics Program supports students with physical disabilities by providing inclusive and competitive sports opportunities that foster personal growth, community, and athletic achievement. UC Adaptive Athletics is designed for any UC student (undergraduate or graduate/professional, all campuses) with lower limb disabilities, whether you use a wheelchair daily or just for sports, at any skill level.

Current Sports

  • Wheelchair Tennis: Open to students with lower limb disabilities, using specialized sports wheelchairs. The sport follows traditional tennis rules, with a two-bounce allowance for accessibility.
  • Adaptive Track and Field: Compete in sprints, long-distance races, and field events like shot put, using racing wheelchairs and throwing frames.

UC Adaptive Athletics Club Sport Program

Launching in spring 2025, the UC Adaptive Athletics Club Sport program offers students various ways to get involved. You can participate in adaptive track and field or tennis, work out, connect with the regional adaptive sports community, or explore future careers working with disabled athletes.

Why Join UC Adaptive Athletics?

  • Inclusive & Competitive: Push your limits and compete at a high level.
  • Community: Connect with like-minded peers and the adaptive sports community in Cincinnati
  • Personal Growth: Build physical skills, teamwork, and leadership.
