- Student must exemplify the characteristics of Julie Benken, particularly in terms of 1) leadership, 2) mentoring; 3) compassion; 4) enthusiasm, and having the best interests of the Bearcat Bands at heart

- Director of Bands selects the recipient in consultation with the band staff

- Yes, as long as the student maintains the required scholarship recipient criteria
