Court Sports

Campus Recreation offers many opportunities to play informal sports within the Campus Recreation Center (CRC). Below you will find guidelines for playing these sports outside of our Intramural Sports programming.

Raquetball, Squash, and Wallyball

The CRC has one racquetball court and one squash court. Both can be reserved through our online portal.
  • Reservations can be made no more than 24 hours in advance and must be made at least an hour prior to the reservation.
    • The maximum reservation time per person is a one hour long block.
    • Blocks can be reserved starting at either the top of the hour or at the half hour mark.
  • If there are no reservations after the current reservation, play may continue.
  • Racquetball and squash equipment is available at the Pro Shop at the Member Services Desk.
  • Wallyball can be set up by Campus Recreation staff on the raquetball court.
    • Can be requested at the Member Services desk.
  • Other activities, such as jump roping or dancing, are allowed in these spaces so long as they don't damage the space.
    • If someone shows up and wishes to use the space for its intended use, either racquetball or squash on its respective court, they are given priority over other activities if there are no reservations.

Volleyball, Badminton, and Pickleball

Nets can be set up for volleyball, badminton, or pickleball on the basketball courts at the CRC as space allows.
  • Volleyball may be played on Courts 1, 2, 5, or 6.
  • Badminton and pickleball may be played on Courts 5 or 6.
  • If there are no programs scheduled on the courts alloted for each sport, requests for net setup can be made at the Member Services desk.
  • Nets for one sport cannot be used to play another.
    • Ex. Playing volleyball with a badminton net.
  • Pickleball nets cannot be set up after 2 p.m., unless for Intramural Sports programming.
Volleyball and badminton have priority use time where they can be set up on a specific court, if requested. Details about when and how each sport can be set up are listed below.
  • Priority use time means that the designated sport has priority over all other sports on that court during listed days and times.
    • Badminton: Monday and Wednesday from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Court 5.
    • Volleyball: Tuesday and Thursday from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Court 5.
  • If you would like to have a net set up for one of these sports during their scheduled priority use time, setup requests can be made at the Member Services desk.

Basketball

Basketball can always be played when there is no other programming, reservation, or closure on a court. There are a couple rules we ask everyone abide by when playing.
  • When multiple teams are wanting to play, the losing team of a game should leave the court for the next team to rotate on.
  • If waiting to rotate, check with others waiting at that court to decide the linup of who's next, who will be after them, and so on.
  • If a volleyball net is set up, two half court games are allowed on either side of the net. If you would like to play full court basketball and there are no other courts available, requests to remove the volleyball net can be made at the Member Services desk.
  • If there are badminton or pickleball nets that need to be moved for you to use a court, requests to remove those can be made at the Member Services desk.
  • If there is a badminton or pickleball net set up only on the opposite side of the court, i.e. not in the middle or on the side you would like to play on, you may play half court basketball while play for the other sport continues on the other side.
