Walk-In Career Coaching
During walk-in hours, you'll meet with a trained peer career coach. Peer career coaches provide personal attention, sound advice and relevant resources. They'll work one-on-one with you on things like:
- Resume writing and review
- Curriculum vitae (CV) writing and review
- Cover letters
- Job search process
- Mock interviews
- Elevator pitch practice
- Networking strategies
- LinkedIn and Handshake profile review
How to Access Walk-In Peer Career Coaching
During the fall and spring semesters, peer career coaching is available in person and virtually. Just drop in – no appointment needed! Average session is 20 minutes, but you can take as much or as little time as you need and come back as often as you want. The service is first-come, first-served, with priority for in-person clients.
Hours
The Career Studio is now closed for winter break. We will re-open with the start of spring semester on January 13, 2025. Students who want coaching over the break may request an appointment with a professional career coach through Handshake.

Closed Days
The Career Studio is closed on University holidays, Reading Days, Spring Break, and exam week. In Spring 2025, the studio will be closed on January 20 and from March 17 through 21.
How to Request Peer Career Coaching
In Person
For in-person peer career coaching, simply come to the Bearcat Promise Career Studio at Tangeman University Center (TUC) Room 310 during open hours. We're located on Level 300 next to PNC Bank.
Virtually
Current UC Students
Current UC students can access virtual peer career coaching this way:
- Open Microsoft Teams on your desktop or internet browser.
- On the left-side menu, click the Teams tab.
- Click "Join or create a team"
- Type in this code to join the public team called Bearcat Promise Career Studio Virtual Walk-in Services: 9a5i22b
- You will automatically be granted access to the Team.
- Start a new conversation. Start with the mention @Peer Career Coach, and include the following information:
- Your first and last name
- Your UC email address
- Your major and college
- What you need help with (e.g., resume or CV review, cover letter review, quick career question, etc.)
A peer career coach will respond with further directions and support.
UC Alumni
Virtual "walk-in" services for alumni consist of electronic document reviews or a video call in Microsoft Teams or Zoom. To request virtual peer career coaching as a UC alum, send an email to CareerStudio@uc.edu with these details:
- Your first and last name
- When you graduated and degree
- What you need help with (e.g., resume or CV review, cover letter review, quick career question, etc.)
A peer career coach will respond within one business day.
