Co-op Employer Agreement

As an employer/partner of the University of Cincinnati Co-op program, you play an important role in the education of our students.

As our educational partner we ask that you:

  • Provide the agreed-upon benefits of a paid experience related to the student’s field of study.
  • Provide the student with an opportunity to take on an increased level of responsibility as appropriate.
  • Provide appropriate supervision, mentoring and training for the student throughout the term.
  • Support the student in the completion of the Student Report which is the main assignment for the student’s co-op course. The Student Report requires that the student meet with their supervisor. A Student Report email reminder will be sent to the student's supervisor and to the student regarding these requirements.
  • At the end of the term, evaluate the learning and development of your student through completion of the online Employer Report or your own company equivalent. We will send an email reminder with access information to our online system.

Additionally, by participating in the University of Cincinnati Co-op program, you agree to the following terms:

  • Your organization agrees to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to, applicable federal and state laws and regulations related to wages, hours of work, safety and health standards.
  • Your organization is committed to providing a work environment free from unlawful discrimination and harassment. As an employer you will not discriminate against any applicant or employee based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. You will promptly address reports of discrimination or harassment, including sexual misconduct, involving University of Cincinnati students and/or organization employees, and promptly report any incidents to the University of Cincinnati College of Cooperative Education & Professional Studies.
  • Please note that failure to comply with these terms may result in the termination of your participation in the UC co-op program.
  • Employer partners agree to receive email messaging, including timely updates and a monthly employer newsletter from the University of Cincinnati College of Cooperative Education & Professional Studies.
