UHP First Year Welcome Event
The Welcome Event is designed to be a space to build community with fellow first year UHP students, as well as learn more about what to expect from our program. The afternoon will involve a series of choose-your-own-adventure breakout rooms that touch on various opportunities within UHP. Students will also have a chance to connect with their Gateway to University Honors section, allowing them to meet their soon-to-be classmates and their UHP mentor for the semester!
Welcome Event Details
The Welcome Event will take place on Thursday August 22, from 12:30p to 3:45p in Clifton Court Hall. All participants will receive a UHP t-shirt at check-in.
Expect the following programming for the day:
- Group welcome
- Choose-your-own-path interactive breakout rooms
- Connection with staff, faculty, and fellow first-year students
- Insight into future program and seminar opportunities
- Signature pre-approved experiences tabling
- Light appetizers and refreshments
- Social space and games
- Meet your small group and Mentor*
The breakout room themes and activities will touch on a variety of opportunities within the program - both for professional as well as personal development.
*Your Mentor will connect with you throughout the fall semester, as a support and resource for your transition into UC/UHP!
