My UHP experience in five words
Memorial, Opportune, Hopeful, Inspiring and Resourceful
Why UHP is for me
UHP has been a stepping stone towards alot of my successes in college. Ever since joining UHP, my confidence level has skyrocketed because I am no longer seen for physical characteristics or status but for my abilities. Being an honors student has kept me on my toes to keep my grades and skills at an acknowlegable level.
An honors experience I'll never forget
the experience I look most forward to is being an intern at Northwestern memorial hospital. this is a 2 self honors experience that will give the opportunity to shadow doctors in different fields and help make my path clearer. I have so much anxiety for the future but experiences like these help ease me and give me hope for the future. I can't wait!
Advice for anyone interested in UHP
The University Honors Program is an experience that makes you stand out from the rest. It gives you opportunities that equip you to be a team player, a team leader, a mentee, and a mentor. At the end of the day, UHP grows leaders.
I have enjoyed my time in UHP because I feel like I am seen in the program. Everywhere else, I am seen as a Black student with an accent or a foreigner. But in UHP, I am seen as an honors student, and I am not limited just based on my background. If you want a community where you are free to be yourself and get the same opportunities as others, while simultaneously getting unique benefits like early picks for housing and classes, and research experiences, UHP is the way to go
What my future holds
