My UHP experience in five words

Challenging, influential, rewarding, developmental, captivating

Why UHP is for me

This program has given me the opportunity to try things that are outside my comfort zone and focus on what is important to me. This includes teaching, research, leadership, culture, etc. There is no limit to the things I can accomplish in this program as long as I put my mind to it, and that can be said for every individual who also gets involved.

Advice for anyone interested in UHP

You can't know unless you try! The best thing about UHP is it is centered around you and your passions/interests, so you are not forced into a certain path or experience. In addition, you will also get the chance to connect with an amazing community that also supports your goals and aspirations.

An honors experience I’ll never forget

My research position at Cincinnati Children's Hospital because it was an experience that took me by surprise and has helped me realize that you can never know for sure that you dislike something if you don't give it a chance. I was convinced that I would never consider a future in research, but after completing this experience, I think that I need to continue to explore so that I can truly understand my passions.

What my future holds

As I enter into my third year, I plan on making my job as a patient care assistant into a self-designed experience so that I can fully reflect on what it is like to work in healthcare and apply my knowledge to the future. I also plan on learning more about myself and immersing myself into my Asian culture through an experience like cooking.
