Summer Housing for UC Students

Students seeking to live in University Housing during the Summer 2025 term must be enrolled for the Spring 25, Summer 25, or Fall 25 semester.

Summer term housing is available May 11 - August 9 at 12:00 p.m. (noon).

Your success is our success. The university's position is that the support system provided by living in university housing enhances the academic efforts and social adjustment of new students-and provides important benefits to all returning students as well.

The 2025 summer housing term ends Saturday, August 9 at 12 p.m. (noon).

Summer to Fall Semester Transition

New Residents

New students in the Fall 2024 should reference the Move-In page for Fall 2024 move-in information.

Students currently in summer housing that will live in university housing for the 2024-25 academic year will transition to their academic year assignments beginning August 1. Additional information will be sent via email, and posted to this section of the web page.

Transitioning Residents Procedure

  • Starting August 1 at 9 a.m., you may pick up keys to your fall assignment from the service center of your fall assignment. After picking up your keys, you will gain access to the building.
    • A limited number of rooms may be ready for move-in before this date. If this is the case for your room, you will receive separate communication to notify you.
  • By Saturday, August 3 at 12:00 p.m. (noon), students must complete their transition to their fall locations.
    • You must be completely moved out of your summer assignment and into your fall assignment.
    • After removing all personal items from your summer assignment, proceed to the front desk to check-out and return your summer assignment keys.
  • If you have questions regarding move-out procedures, please contact your RA or the service center of your summer 2024 assigned room.

Students Staying in the Same Room

If you are assigned to the same room for the summer as you will be for the 2024-25 academic year, you must stop by the front desk of your hall to get checked-in for the fall 2024 semester to ensure your card access. Academic year access will be granted only once you have checked in.

Why Students Choose to Live in Summer Housing

  • You increase your odds for academic achievement. Studies have shown that students residing on campus do better academically and are more likely to graduate. Living in a residence hall makes it easier for you to access the library and to connect with study groups. No travel to and from an off-campus residence means you will be less likely to miss classes and you will have more time for study.
  • Meals are nutritious, convenient, and easy. The dining centers and retail food locations on campus provide a variety of healthy foods. Meal plan participation saves you the time of grocery shopping, cooking, and washing dishes.
  • Work and fun are easier. If you plan to work part-time, living in a residence hall makes scheduling time for a campus job easier.
