For UC s New International Students, 24/7 Transportation from the Airport Now Available
International demand for a University of Cincinnati education will bring about 500 new students from overseas to Cincinnati this fall.
And when arriving at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, those students will now be able to find transportation 24/7. Thats because UC International has a new partnership with Airport Executive Shuttle to offer transportation to newly arriving international students, the majority of whom will arrive in a two-week period in mid-September.
Ron Cushing, director,
, explains, Up till this year, we have always relied on volunteers to try and offer transportation to our incoming international students; however, that was becoming harder to do.
For instance, increased security measures at overseas airports have affected travel times, and flight delays are increasingly common. The flight delays experienced by international students coming to UC were increasing. Our volunteers would sometimes be waiting extended, late hours due to those delays, added Cushing.
With the new partnership, an international student need only go to the Airport Executive Shuttle desk and provide his or her name in order to receive assistance with transportation and luggage at any time day or night.
However, the personal touch of UC volunteers who greet international students upon arrival will still remain a component of the arrival experience for incoming international students. During peak arrival times, UC volunteers will meet new students at the baggage claim areas to help with luggage and to help students find the shuttle desk.
