Elizabeth McCord joins UC's College of Law as legal writing professor

The University of Cincinnati College of Law welcomes Elizabeth McCord as assistant professor of practice. She will teach courses in the areas of legal research and writing and advocacy.

Prior to joining the law school in this role, McCord was a visiting professor. She brings extensive practice and teaching experience to the position.

“We’re excited to have Professor McCord join our esteemed faculty,” said Dean Verna L. Williams, Nippert Professor of Law. “Her expertise as a practitioner and educator make her very well suited to building students’ capacity in legal research in writing—essential skills for success in the legal field.”

Professor McCord is an accomplished attorney with more than 36 years of civil practice experience representing individuals and businesses.  Her previous experience includes practicing at such firms as Montgomery, Rennie & Jonson, Gerner & Kearns Co. LPA, as well as at the Campbell County, Kentucky, Circuit Court.  In addition, McCord’s new position marks a return to UC; she once taught in the English Department at the College of Arts & Sciences.

McCord received her JD from the University of Kentucky College of Law, MA from Eastern Kentucky University and BA from Berea College.

Camp aims to empower children, teens who stutter

UC College-Conservatory of Music alumnus Donald Lawrence is part of the 2024 class of Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame inductees. Located at the Banks in downtown Cincinnati, the induction ceremony on July 27 will feature a parade of stars and a free concert by the Zapp Band.
