Bearcat Promise Career Studio opens in TUC
Celebrate A&S Week in the Bearcat Promise Career Studio
The Bearcat Promise Career Studio, representing the next generation of career education services, is now open in the Tangeman University Center.
Offering students one-on-one career coaching, networking opportunities, job search assistance and more, the Career Studio supports the Bearcat Promise that every student will be career-ready when they graduate. The Career Studio, the latest example of UC’s commitment to preparing students for life after graduation, is one of five locations in which students can receive career coaching and access career resources (see below for list of locations).
The Bearcat Promise is a key component of Next Lives Here, the university's strategic direction.
Centrally located in the heart of UC’s main campus, TUC 310 (behind PNC Bank), the Bearcat Promise Career Studio offers walk-in appointments for all students between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The professional career coaching staff and student peer coaches are also available to support students and faculty through classroom presentations, connection with resources and more.
The official grand opening of the Bearcat Promise Career Studio will take place in January, but students can take advantage of resources now. Whether just getting started or ready to begin connecting with employers, students are encouraged to visit the Bearcat Promise Career Studio to begin preparing for what comes next.
A&S Week, Nov. 18-22
During the week of Nov. 18-22, all McMicken College of Arts & Sciences students, especially those graduating this December and May, are encouraged to visit the Bearcat Promise Career Studio to prepare. Each day, the career studio will offer something different — giveaways, professional headshots, resume reviews, workshops, and more. All students are welcome. Learn more.

Zachary Jarrell came to the University of Cincinnati in 2019 to pursue a degree in statistics. In 2023, he graduated with a Bachelor’s in Journalism. For many undergraduates, the journey through college rarely takes the expected track. Detours happen, and majors change. When plans switch up, it can be helpful to a student’s success to find support. For Jarrell, it was the people he worked alongside in the journalism department who helped him on his journey. It has left a lasting impression on his life so far, guiding him to multiple internships as an undergraduate, real-world experience in prominent news outlets, and eventually a successful career in the highly competitive field of journalism.
