Vote in 2020-21 Staff Senate election
It’s time to elect your Staff Senate representatives. Online elections are open through May 15.
The University of Cincinnati Staff Senate serves as an advisory body to the president of the university and university administration and, provides an equitable representative voice for the staff within our university community.
Our mission is to serve the university by promoting, protecting and representing the interests and perspective of university staff. The inclusion of a staff voice provides added talent and diversity to the university mission of serving and educating students, and enriching the university, city, state and global community.
All staff employees of the university not principally charged with teaching are eligible to vote in the elections.
The online election is open through 5 p.m.,May 15, 2020, with the new Staff Senate term beginning July 1, 2020. The Staff Senate Communications Committee will announce new senators in June 2020.
The 2020 Staff Senate election will be to fill the following 33 open seats:
- Senior VP for Academic Affairs and Provost – 9 open seats
- Senior VP for Health Affairs – 8 open seats
- Administration and Finance – 4 open seats
- At-large Senators – 12 open seats
All seats will be apportioned as follows:
- Candidates who receive the most votes by VP area will fill any open seats for the candidate’s VP area. If there are no open seats for the candidate’s VP area or all the open seats have been filled, then remaining candidates will be considered for at-large seats.
- There will be 12 at-large senators selected to serve on Staff Senate for a two-year term. At-large senators have all rights, responsibilities, and privileges as elected senators for VP areas. The Governance Committee will apportion the twelve at-large senate seats to remaining, unelected candidates regardless of VP area. More information on the apportionment of these seats can be found in section 5 d of the Staff Senate Senator Apportionment- Resolution 1.
The Staff Senate 20-21 Ballot will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 15.
You will be required to login using your UC credentials. Each ballot is secure and anonymous and all data entered is encrypted for security of the site.
