UC’s political scientist David Niven comments on soon to be vacant Ohio senate seat

Ohio Senator Rob Portman (R) has decided not to seek another term. Who will replace him is an “adventure” to be seen, says David Niven, a prominent UC expert on state and local politics. 

 "It's kind of a choose-your-own-adventure here. If the Republican nominee frightens enough people, the money is going to flow in from the Democratic side," says Niven, an an associate professor of political science.

Niven teaches American politics and conducts research on campaigns, political communication and death penalty policy.
