US News rankings reflect positive track

The 2022 U.S. News &World Report “Best Graduate School” rankings, released today, rank Cincinnati Law at 81 nationally, an increase over the prior year, tying the law school with Brooklyn Law School, Drexel University, American University and the University of Kentucky.  The rankings are based on assessments of the academic program based on excellence and statistical indicators regarding admitted students, employment outcomes and resources available to students.

“We are pleased that this year’s rankings reflect what we already know:  Cincinnati Law is on a positive trajectory, thanks to the ongoing efforts of our entire community,” said Dean Verna Williams.

“Our faculty are productive, innovative academics and educators, earning recognition for their scholarly contributions. Our students engaged learners, whose grit and determination have led to such accomplishments as prevailing in the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, in addition to competing successfully in regional, national and international moot competitions, such as the Vis Arbitration Competition. And, our staff includes thought leaders in such areas admissions, academic success, and student affairs, whose depth of knowledge ensure that the student experience is top-rate.”

Cincinnati Law is the nation’s fourth oldest continuously operating law school in the nation.  Its rich legacy of educating leaders includes distinguished alumni at the highest levels of government, in Fortune 500 corporations, major law firms and nongovernmental organizations. Cincinnati Law was the first to establish a center dedicated to the study of international human rights and is home to one of the most successful Innocence Projects in the global movement to combat wrongful convictions. On March 1, Cincinnati Law broke ground on its new $45.6 million state-of-the-art home, slated to open in the heart of UC’s campus in Fall 2022.
