UC study finds that exposure to tobacco smoke increases emergent health care visits for children
UC faculty member and health services researcher Ashley Merianos is cited in U.S. News & World Report regarding a recent study she led on the harms of exposing children to tobacco smoke.
"Despite major progress in tobacco control, about four in 10 children remain exposed to tobacco smoke," said lead author Ashley Merianos, associate professor of health promotion and education at the University of Cincinnati.
Merianos, an associate professor of health promotion and education in UC’s School of Human Services, has extensive training and experience in the epidemiology and prevention of substance use with an emphasis on tobacco, quantitative statistical methods, and clinical and translational research in the pediatric healthcare setting.
Meranios was also interviewed by WOSU to discuss the study.
