President Pinto's Statement on United Asian Advocates
"I recently met with the leadership of our United Asian Advocates (UAA) student group here on campus. I want to commend them for speaking out on the rising levels of violence, discrimination and xenophobia directed at Asians and Asian Americans across the nation. I stand with them in denouncing the bigoted comments made by unwelcomed visitors to their virtual meeting earlier this semester. Such disturbing examples of hate and racism cannot be tolerated. As an academic community, we must strive every single day to create a truly diverse, inclusive, equitable, safe and supportive environment. My team and I look forward to partnering with UAA, as well as with supporters across campus and beyond, to advance our shared agenda of making UC a better, more inclusive and welcoming community for all."
