Technology Networks: Protein blueprint could help to develop infertility treatments

Research from a UC College of Medicine laboratory is featured in science news service

UC Professor Thomas Thompson, PhD, and Kaitlin Hart, a doctoral student, are advancing our understanding of the protein anti-Müllerian hormone hormone (AMH), which helps form male reproductive organs and in females regulates follicle development and ovulation in the ovaries. They have developed a blueprint for how AMH operates and their findings are available online in the scholarly journal for the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS). Knowledge of AMH may assist researchers in finding treatments for infertility in women.
