Data project aims to bring transparency, improve justice
The University of Cincinnati and the Ohio Criminal Sentencing Commission on Monday celebrated a partnership to create the Ohio Sentencing Data Platform, an event that received media coverage throughout Ohio and nationally.
Ohio Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor and University of Cincinnati President Neville Pinto signed a partnership to establish the Ohio Sentencing Data Platform, which will be managed by the Information Technology Solutions Center at UC’s School of Information Technology.
The Ohio Sentencing Data Platform will help create a data-informed environment that allows for thorough understanding and analysis of the criminal justice system by those involved with the courts and will increase transparency to the public.
