
Plan ahead for UC Homecoming activities
Nov. 6 parade occupies streets near campus
University of Cincinnati Homecoming activities on Saturday, Nov. 6 will feature the annual Homecoming parade at noon, immediately following ESPN College GameDay. The football game versus the University of Tulsa takes place at 3:30 p.m. at UC’s historic Nippert Stadium. (Previous communications had indicated an 11:30 a.m. start to the parade, prior to the GameDay news.)
Some streets around UC's campus will close during the late-morning hours on Saturday, while traffic and parking on other nearby streets will be restricted.
Parade route and street closings
UC’s Homecoming parade at noon Saturday will affect the following streets around campus:
- Calhoun Street, between Vine Street and Clifton Avenue, will close at 10 a.m.
- Clifton Avenue, between McMillan Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, will close at 11:45 a.m.
Entry into the Calhoun Garage from Calhoun Street will be closed beginning at 10 a.m.; entry into the Clifton Court and Stratford Heights garages from Clifton Ave. will be closed beginning at 11:15 a.m. Find additional details on parking (including the opportunity to purchase prepaid, discounted gameday parking) and gameday/tailgate online.
Parade lineup will occur the full length of Calhoun Street from Vine Street to Clifton Avenue. The parade route runs north from the corner of Calhoun and Clifton to Probasco St., just prior to the intersection of Clifton and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. See the campus map.
All parking and regular driving routes will be reinstated near the Homecoming parade’s anticipated end by approximately 1 p.m.

UC students combine engineering and design experience

At the University of Cincinnati, the College of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning hosted a design competition with HAAG-Streit USA, where students were tasked with designing an ophthalmology workstation that is accessible and able to be incorporated into retail settings. Caleb Loayza, a mechanical engineering student at the College of Engineering and Applied Science, and Guy Mueller, an industrial design student, combined their expertise and took home first place.
