Storm Bratchett Memorial Blood Drive March 3-4
Hoxworth Blood Center has announced the 13th Annual Storm Bratchett Memorial Blood Drive, scheduled for 11 a.m.-7 p.m., Thursday, March 3, and 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Friday, March 4, at Christ’s Community Church, located at 2433 25th St. in Portsmouth.
This event is the 13th memorial drive for Storm Bratchett, who was only 17 years old when accidentally shot in the chest with an arrow in 2008. He was rushed to the Southern Ohio Medical Center where doctors worked for hours to save his life, using more than 40 pints of blood. He did not survive.
“While Storm’s life was tragically cut short, his legacy lives on through this annual blood drive,” said Alecia Lipton, Hoxworth spokesperson. “We hope that the community will honor Storm’s selfless, giving spirit by making a lifesaving blood donation in his memory.”
