Nominations being accepted for UC Alumni Association’s top awards

The University of Cincinnati Alumni Association (UCAA) is seeking nominations for its annual slate of premier alumni awards, which recognize extraordinary achievement and service. Nominations for the 2023 awards will be accepted through Wednesday, July 20, 2022.

Alumni can be nominated for four distinct awards:

  • The William Howard Taft Medal for Notable Achievement is UCAA’s highest honor, celebrating remarkable accomplishment in the honoree’s chosen field(s).
  • The Robert E. Dobbs Distinguished Service Award recognizes an individual for tremendous dedication and selfless service to the university community.
  • The Marian A. Spencer Mosaic Award honors leadership in fostering inclusiveness, championing the cause of the underrepresented, and promoting opportunity for all.
  • The Jeffrey Hurwitz Young Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award honors a young UC alumnus for significant professional accomplishment as well as service rendered within the UC community.

Honorees will be recognized in conjunction with the UC Alumni Celebration, part of UCAA’s Alumni Week festivities held each spring. The celebration recognition also includes recipients of the Outstanding Alumni Awards representing each of UC’s 13 colleges plus the unique training ground of UC Athletics. Outstanding Alumni Award honorees are selected by each college/unit and submitted to the UCAA for inclusion.

“Our alumni make an enormous positive impact on the world in countless ways, and the UC Alumni Celebration shines a much deserved spotlight on their outstanding accomplishments,” said Jennifer Heisey, chief alumni officer. “Honoring them each spring begins with this nomination process, so we encourage members of the Bearcat family to nominate extraordinary alumni they know.”

Nominations can be made online, by mail (ATTN: Russell Best, UC Alumni Association, P.O. Box 210024, Cincinnati, OH 45221-0024), or email.
