UC research provides valuable comparison of anticoagulant drugs

Newly published research out of the University of Cincinnati and the University of California-Davis shows that direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC) drugs are more effective and are more cost-effective than low molecular weight heparin for treating cancer-associated thrombosis. The research was published in the Annals of Internal Medicine.

UC research examines barriers to treatment of COVID-19 in local Latinx families

New research from the University of Cincinnati,examines the barriers as well as those that are helpful in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 in Latinx families in Cincinnati. Researchers identified primary barriers that include insecurities in food, jobs and housing and immigration. Key facilitators included having trusted messengers of health-related information.

Research sheds light on minimally invasive neurosurgery approach

The University of Cincinnati’s Paolo Palmisciano, MD, was part of an award-winning research team that examined how well a minimally invasive approach worked to limit vision and hearing loss in patients following brain tumor surgery and will present the research at the American Association of Neurological Surgeons annual scientific meeting.
