With a tip of her cap, UC doctoral student celebrates virtually

Doctoral student Angela White is among the 2,348 students who will be receiving 2,457 degrees from the University of Cincinnati during the virtual 2020 fall commencement ceremonies set for Dec. 11 and 12. Some UC programs allow students to earn dual degrees. The College of Medicine is granting degrees to 37 students — 12 doctoral, 24 master’s and one bachelor’s.

National rankings highlight UC’s co-op program, innovation

The University of Cincinnati’s co-op program stands at No. 4 in the U.S. News & World Report’s latest rankings, continuing its historical placement among the top five co-op programs in the country — and No. 1 for co-op among public universities. The latest 2023 issue of the magazine’s influential “Best Colleges” guide ranks UC in the top tier, including among the “most innovative among national universities,” (No. 68) — UC’s first-ever ranking in that category.

UC programs adjust to a pandemic environment

The COVID-19 pandemic outbreak changed the delivery of education when it forced in-person learning at the University of Cincinnati to shut down in mid-March of 2020. Colleges at UC had to quickly scramble to reimagine how to teach their students in an unprecedented environment. Leadership at the College of Allied Health Sciences immediately began the complicated process of designing learning plans that would meet the needs of their various departments.

UC researcher examines impact of mass incarceration on youth, family health

Samantha Boch of the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing, having worked as a prison nurse while working to get her doctorate is now devoting her time to research the impact of mass incarceration on child and family health. She was involved with two research papers that got published in 2021.
