CCM alumna featured in Strings Magazine digital performance series

Strings Magazine shone the spotlight on UC College-Conservatory of Music alumna Anita Graef (MM Cello Performance, ‘19), featuring the rising star in a digital performance of Sibelius’ Theme and Variations for Solo Cello and Gliere’s 8 Pieces for Violin and Cello. The concert is still available for viewing on the publication’s website.

Cincinnati May Festival appoints CCM doctoral student as new Choral Conducting Fellow

The Cincinnati May Festival has announced the appointment of CCM student Matthew Swope as its Choral Conducting Fellow for the 2021-22 season. A first-year student in CCM's choral conducting doctoral program, Swope previously served as the director of choral activities at Winter Park High School in Orlando, Florida. He was recently awarded second place in the high school chorus division of the American Prize Dale Warland Award in Choral Conducting.

Cincinnati Opera and CCM announce details of next Opera Fusion: New Works workshop

Cincinnati Opera and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) have announced the next workshop in their groundbreaking joint program, Opera Fusion: New Works. In collaboration with the Metropolitan Opera, the Cincinnati partners will host a workshop in November 2023 for the new opera Lincoln in the Bardo, with music by Missy Mazzoli and libretto by Royce Vavrek, based on the celebrated novel by George Saunders. Commissioned by the Metropolitan Opera and a co-production of the Metropolitan Opera and Los Angeles Opera, Lincoln in the Bardo is slated to receive its world premiere in 2026.
