Strings Magazine shone the spotlight on UC College-Conservatory of Music alumna Anita Graef (MM Cello Performance, ‘19), featuring the rising star in a digital performance of Sibelius’ Theme and Variations for Solo Cello and Gliere’s 8 Pieces for Violin and Cello. The Cincinnati May Festival has announced the appointment of CCM student Matthew Swope as its Choral Conducting Fellow for the 2021-22 season. A first-year student in CCM's choral conducting doctoral program, Swope previously served as the director of choral activities at Winter Park High School in Orlando, Florida. He was recently awarded second place in the high school chorus division of the American Prize Dale Warland Award in Choral Conducting.

Cincinnati Opera and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) have announced the next workshop in their groundbreaking joint program, Opera Fusion: New Works. In collaboration with the Metropolitan Opera, the Cincinnati partners will host a workshop in November 2023 for the new opera Lincoln in the Bardo, with music by Missy Mazzoli and libretto by Royce Vavrek, based on the celebrated novel by George Saunders. Commissioned by the Metropolitan Opera and a co-production of the Metropolitan Opera and Los Angeles Opera, Lincoln in the Bardo is slated to receive its world premiere in 2026.

Cincinnati Opera and CCM will workshop two new operas—"Two Corners" and "Bulrusher"—through their Opera Fusion: New Works partnership this winter. Both workshops culminate in free, public performances of excerpts on December 17 (Two Corners) and January 24 (Bulrusher).

Cincinnati Opera and CCM will workshop "The Highlands," a new opera by Carlos Simon, Lynn Nottage and Ruby Aiyo Gerber, through Opera Fusion: New Works Partnership. Commissioned by the Metropolitan Opera/Lincoln Center Theater New Works Program, The Highlands workshop culminates in a free, public presentation of excerpts on Saturday, March 23 at Music Hall’s Wilks Studio.

In November 2019, the UC College-Conservatory of Music Wind Symphony presented a special concert to commemorate the 50th anniversary year of the Stonewall Uprising. Exclusively featuring works by LGBTQ+ composers, the performance showcased Omar Thomas’ A Mother of a Revolution, which is available to watch online.
