UC Answers: How does UC support first-gen students?

First-generation college grad Jamar Beckham is a financial aid adviser at the University of Cincinnati and proud UC alumnus. Beckham received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 2018 from UC’s College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services. He offers advice to other first-generation students navigating higher education.

Student scholars continue Marian Spencer's legacy

A total of 10 students in Cincinnati Public Schools have been named Marian Spencer Scholars for the Fall 2023. Four learned of their award on Decision Day, January 23, while six others received the surprise announcement during the following week. UC officials visited eight Cincinnati schools to congratulate these high-achieving students.
