Alum values the UC co-op advantage

Steve Kuhn, a 1986 University of Cincinnati alum, is executive vice president and co-founder of Sevan Multi-Site Solutions, a program management and construction firm based in Downers Grove, Illinois. Kuhn says the early hands-on career experience co-op provided helped shape his trajectory as a manager and business leader.

From co-op to CEO

Few understand the value of co-op quite like Jeremy Jarrett. Jarrett is president and CEO of Cincinnati-based tech consulting firm Kinetic Vision, a company that has integrated UC co-op students for over 30 years. Jarrett himself got his start at the company through co-op as UC aerospace student in the '90s.

USA Today: Cincinnati’s Flying Pig Marathon named best in nation

Cincinnati's Flying Pig Marathon ranks No. 1 in USA Today’s 10Best list of top-rated marathon, beating out 20 other marathons across the country. The list highlights the race’s fun pig theme, its scenic 26.2-mile route along the Ohio River through diverse neighborhoods across Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, and a post-race party with pizza and beer.

CNBC: Students push for more financial education

Students are joining the cause for more personal finance education. University of Cincinnati economist Julie Heath, who helped to develop the SmartPath curriculum, is quoted in a CNBC article, saying schools can start teaching financial education early; by age 7, a lot of kids’ attitudes about consumption are set or beginning to form.

$1.2 million planned gift for research at UC College of Medicine

Cincinnati Realtor Julz Brown has created a $1.2 million planned gift to support research involving the treatment of pulmonary infections at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. The fund will be named after the late Mary Beth Comer, a family friend, who had cystic fibrosis (CF).
