Are local schools prepared for the unthinkable? A team representing Oak Hills High School will practice how it would react to a hypothetical chemical attack at a Jan. 20 workshop presented by UC. The workshop is funded by a $100,000 grant from Ohio Homeland Security and the Ohio Emergency Management Agency.

Educators, administrators, law enforcement and emergency workers packed the house Jan. 20 at the first of 10 workshops that will take place across the state of Ohio. They put their expertise and their emergency school manuals to work as they responded to a hypothetical chemical attack on a local high school.

Starting in the fall, the University of Cincinnati will simplify and streamline a number of its Information Technology programs. Instead of six overlapping programs once offered by three academic units, the university will offer a single full-time and a single part-time associate-degree and baccalaureate-degree option out of the College of Applied Science.

March 1, 2004, is the deadline for UC women undergraduates to apply to participate in science and engineering research opportunities. The WISE (Women in Science & Engineering) program and REWU (Research Experience for Women Undergraduates) includes a summer stipend of $4,000, professional research experience and mentoring.
