What is Psychology?

There are many misconceptions about the field of psychology. Undergraduate director Erinn Green clears the air by explaining, “Psychology is one of those disciplines where people think that you are going to graduate and be a psychologist, right? It doesn’t really work like that. It is a really diverse field, and people trained in psychology do lots of other things than being a psychologist.”

UC research funding grows in FY 2021

University of Cincinnati researchers collected more external research funding in Fiscal Year 2021 —$221 million — than the $207 million in FY 2020. Top federal sponsors in FY 2021 included the U.S. Department of Education, National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute and the National Science Foundation. Local and state supporters include the Harold C. Schott Foundation, Talbert House, the Ohio Department of Transportation, Ohio Department of Youth Services and others.

UC, Children’s to make local WIC enrollment easier for the eligible

Too many women and children in the Cincinnati region who qualify for federal nutrition benefits are missing out on receiving them — in many cases because of the application process and language barriers. Now a team led by Cincinnati Children’s pediatrician Chidiogo Anyigbo, MD, MPH, and University of Cincinnati pediatric psychologist Cathleen Stough, PhD, has funding to do something about that.
