UC's College-Conservatory of Music is proud to present alumni and distinguished service awards to outstanding members of our community at the end of each academic year. The 2023 awards are presented to five accomplished alumni and one dedicated patron in a private virtual event as well as during the CCM's Graduation Convocation Ceremony on Friday, April 28.

The UC College-Conservatory of Music proudly shares the news that doctoral student Joseph Miller will join the ranks of the Evansville Philharmonic as a bass clarinetist. The Evansville Philharmonic is the largest arts institution in the Tri-State area, and performs for thousands of audience members each year.

UC College-Conservatory of Music alumnus Harrison Sheckler (BM Piano, '19) brought together musicians along with Major League Baseball starts to perform a virtual rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame," including former Cincinnati Reds pitcher Bronson Arroyo.

UC College-Conservatory of Music alumnus Harrison Sheckler (BM Piano, ’19) united 300 musicians from 15 countries for a virtual performance of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “You’ll Never Walk Alone” from Carousel. The performance is available to watch online.

The show goes on with CCMONSTAGE Online beginning Dec. 11! Enjoy excerpts from the first four episodes of CCM's new digital performance series in our official teaser trailer. CCMONSTAGE Online is a dynamic new series of digital concerts and performing arts presentations showcasing the unparalleled artistry and expertise of CCM's students, faculty and staff. Each episode can be digitally streamed for free. In the middle of his final semester at UC’s College-Conservatory of Music, orchestral conducting student Jeremy Robin Lyons found himself in a new world that deprived him — for now — of the communal experience of making music with other people in person. The pandemic canceled performances, forced classes to move online and separated loved ones, but Robins was hopeful and set out to create a virtual choir and orchestra project that united musicians online.

The Ariel Quartet presents its final CCM concert of the 2023-24 season at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26 in Robert J. Werner Recital Hall. The program includes two of the most beloved works in the chamber music canon: Beethoven’s intense Op. 59 No. 1 and Brahms’ Clarinet Quintet in B Minor, featuring faculty artist Pavel Vinnitsky. Tickets are on sale now through the CCM Box Office.

Cincinnati-based contemporary chamber group All of the Above recently released its much-anticipated debut album, Double Portrait, which is available for purchase via Amazon. The album features works by two American composers, Edward Smaldone and UC College-conservatory of Music’s Norman Dinerstein Professor of Composition Scholar Douglas Knehans, and the ensemble itself is comprised entirely of CCM alumni.
