UC's College of Applied Science Office of Career Placement will host its Spring Career Fair on Wednesday, March 5, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Seniors will be able to make progress on their career decision-making and freshmen will have access to information for making co-op choices through the many companies represented at this event.

UC s College of Engineering awards $35,000 in scholarships at the annual event, which attracts almost 500 area high-school students for the annual competition.

UC's solar house will be back on campus as part of Showcase 2008. In the project, UC has partnered with area businesses both large (Procter & Gamble) and small (Aluminum Extruded Shapes) to see how everything from local consumer products to parts manufacturers can benefit from the new emphasis on sustainability.

UC College of Engineering again hosted the annual JETS TEAMS competition and was again the largest host site in the nation. Thirty area high schools brought about 500 students to test their math and engineering skills.

You don't even have to have a poster, presentation or a project to participate in the many activities or enjoy the displays and demonstrations. The day ends with a talk from National Geographic Explorer Mireya Mayor and an awards ceremony emceed by the Cincinnati Zoo's Thane Maynard.
