The story of Michael Sutton was covered by The Akron Beacon Journal and USA Today. The 33-year-old Cleveland native is an Ohio Innocence Project exoneree. He spent 15 years behind bars because of a wrongful conviction. Pierce Reed, director of policy and engagement for the Ohio Innocence Project at UC Law, says that Sutton’s journey, while incredibly unfair, is far from unique.

A Canton man wrongfully convicted and imprisoned of aggravated robbery was released Wednesday thanks to the efforts of the Ohio Innocence Project at the University of Cincinnati College of Law. Aaron Culbertson is OIP's 38th exonerated client.
