Counseling services available to CCM students through embedded clinician

CCM students can now access counseling services within the CCM Village thanks to the addition of a CAPS embedded clinician. A member of UC’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) staff, Dalziel Reliford-Stone (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision (LPCC-S) who will serve as an embedded clinician for CCM and DAAP. In this new position, Dalziel hopes to work with students and staff to support a culture that embraces authenticity, self-acceptance and wholeness.

Auditioning for a professional ensemble can be a stressful experience. It often involves mastering or memorizing difficult repertoire, travel and multiple rounds of auditions and interviews — plus countless hours spent in practice rooms to rehearse. We celebrate the CCM stars who recently won positions with professional ensembles throughout the country! These students and recent graduates show a glimpse into the college's expanding network of professionals working and thriving in the performing arts landscape.

Watch the CCM Philharmonia's Sept. 20 performance

In addition to the CCMONSTAGE Online series of digital concerts and performing arts productions, the UC College-Conservatory of Music is also presenting virtual performances through its CCMONSTAGE Archives companion series. Our newest installment in this ongoing series features the CCM Philharmonia student orchestra performing Antonín Dvořák's Serenade for Wind Instruments, Op. 44 (1878) and Joseph Haydn's Symphony No. 103 in E-flat Major, D. 944 (“Drumroll”) (1795). Led by Director of Orchestral Studies Mark Gibson, this archival performance footage was recorded in Corbett Auditorium on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020.

CCM announces inaugural wind competition in memory of bassoonist William Winstead

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) announces the creation of an annual competition for wind players in memory of Cincinnati Symphony principal bassoonist and long-time faculty member, William O. Winstead. The inaugural competition will culminate with finalists vying for cash prizes in a public performance scheduled for spring 2022.

The UC College-Conservatory of Music's virtual performance series premieres the Essentially Ellington Gala concert at 7:30 p.m. EDT on August 25. The performance features the CCM Jazz Orchestra performing Duke Ellington's Rockabye River, Launching Pad, Diminuendo/Crescendo in Blue and more.
