Beth Ann Clayton, associate professor in the UC College of Nursing has been named to the National Quality Forum's Maternal Morbidity and Mortality Committee. Clayton was nominated by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and will serve as one of 25 health care experts on the committee.

The Center for Clinical and Translational Science and Training (CCTST) has received its third round of funding through the National Institute of Health (NIH) National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences’ Clinical and Translational Award (CTSA) program. This $22.1 million award will enable the CCTST to continue supporting investigators in maximizing the impact of clinical and translational research to improve individual and population health in Greater Cincinnati and beyond.

The grant-funded HEALTH Pathways program, a partnership between Cincinnati Public Schools and UC College of Nursing, succeeded in helping more high school students enter college and pursue health care careers.

Five African-American researchers and healthcare professionals on UC’s medical campus have received sizable grants from the National Institutes of Health during the past 18 months. The faculty members were interviewed by WCPO to help showcase innovation and the diverse voices and perspectives they bring as the healthcare community attempts to ease health disparities in communities of color in Cincinnati and beyond.
