UC Nursing faculty implements plan to fight opioid, meth problems in region

Jennifer Lanzillotta of the UC College of Nursing is implementing a three-year, $1M grant from HRSA to develop a community model to fight the opioid epidemic. She is working with agencies in Hillsboro, Ohio through Highland District Hospital.

University of Cincinnati geography researchers identified populations most at risk of fatal opiate overdoses in Ohio. They also identified 12 "hot zones" where the rates of fatalities are highest.

UC nursing faculty takes aim at rising maternal morbidity and mortality rates

Beth Ann Clayton, associate professor in the UC College of Nursing has been named to the National Quality Forum's Maternal Morbidity and Mortality Committee. Clayton was nominated by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and will serve as one of 25 health care experts on the committee.
