The first man to walk on the moon was so humble about the achievement that he never spoke of it to his aerospace engineering students at the University of Cincinnati. After returning to Earth, Neil Armstrong left NASA to become a professor in UC’s College of Engineering and Applied Science. He had offers from universities around the country to serve as their president but chose UC because of its vaunted aerospace program and his simple desire to teach students about his first love, flying.
