UC has been recognized as a top LGBTQ-friendly campus by Affordable Colleges Online and Campus Pride. ACO ranked UC #52 on its list of top LGBTQ-friendly campuses while Campus Pride assigned UC 4.5 stars (out of five) on the Campus Pride Index.

New UC program focuses on caring for the underserved

The UC College of Nursing and James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy are collaborating on a graduate certificate to train students to care for the underserved. There is a growing need in the community for health care workers with these skills.

WMC-TV, Memphis: Teens stopping suicides

Jennifer Wright-Berryman, PhD, of the School of Social Work at the UC College of Allied Health Sciences was interviewed in a segment produced by Ivanhoe News and aired on WMC-TV in Memphis focusing on the fight against teen suicide. Wright-Berryman is the lead national researcher for Hope Squad.

Transplant patients may not need steroid treatment in the long run

E. Steve Woodle, MD, professor of surgery at the University of Cincinnati, authored a study that shows that 15 years after transplantation no difference in kidney transplant survival or patient survival rates were found between kidney transplant patients who received long-term corticosteroids versus those who had corticosteroid eliminated early.

Nursing students help distribute COVID-19 vaccines
