Cincinnati ranked in top 20 vibrant arts communities in United States

Southern Methodist University's DataArts, the National Center for Arts Research, recently released the 2020 Arts Vibrancy Index Report, which measures the hotbeds of America's arts and culture. For the first time in the annual report's history, Cincinnati made the top-20 large metropolitan area list.

Watch the CCM Philharmonia's Sept. 20 performance

In addition to the CCMONSTAGE Online series of digital concerts and performing arts productions, the UC College-Conservatory of Music is also presenting virtual performances through its CCMONSTAGE Archives companion series. Our newest installment in this ongoing series features the CCM Philharmonia student orchestra performing Antonín Dvořák's Serenade for Wind Instruments, Op. 44 (1878) and Joseph Haydn's Symphony No. 103 in E-flat Major, D. 944 (“Drumroll”) (1795). Led by Director of Orchestral Studies Mark Gibson, this archival performance footage was recorded in Corbett Auditorium on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020.

US Coast Guard Band's 'Heartland Harmonies' tour presents concert at CCM

The United States Coast Guard Band brings its "Heartland Harmonies" concert tour to UC's College-Conservatory of Music on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. The free concert is presented in Corbett Auditorium as part of the band's tour through the American South and Midwest regions for public performances and educational outreach.

CCM Jazz Orchestra featured in Mardi Gras concert at National Underground Railroad Freedom Center

The boisterous notes of New Orleans’ opulent Mardi Gras will fill the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center's Harriet Tubman Theater during a concert featuring UC College-Conservatory of Music students and faculty beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 3. A companion to the Freedom Center’s Black History Month programming, this off-campus New Orleans Mardi Gras Concert is a celebration of music and culture featuring New Orleans-based jazz trumpeter Ashlin Parker and the CCM Jazz Orchestra. Directed by CCM Director of Jazz Studies Scott Belck, DMA, the Saturday night concert promises an evening with all the revelry and flair of Mardi Gras, followed by a reception and meet-and-greet with the Ashlin Parker.

Arts for all: CCM offers mix of online, in-person electives in fall 2020

UC’s College-Conservatory of Music offers dozens of different general studies and arts elective courses in fall 2020. These credit-granting courses are open to all UC students and cover a wide range of topics including dance, movies and media, music and theatre arts! Course offerings include options for in-person and online instruction.
