WVXU: Gambling addiction is on the rise in Ohio. Advocates are working to meet the demand

According to the most recent Ohio Gambling Survey, the number of people in Ohio with a problem gambling disorder tripled from 2017 to 2022 to more than 250,000. With sports betting legal in Ohio for more than a year, that trend is expected to continue. For a story on the trend, one of the experts interviewed by WVXU, was Gregory Stewart, PhD, of the College of Allied Health Sciences at the University of Cincinnati.

Classes begin for increasingly diverse student body at UC

UC study: dietary education leads to healthier lives

December 13, 2022

Initial data from a University of Cincinnati clinical research study aimed at increasing diet quality and decreasing cardiovascular risk shows positive results. The study, called Supermarket and Web-Based Intervention Targeting Nutrition (SuperWIN), was a randomized, controlled trial that promotes a heart-healthy diet through nutrition counseling provided by a supermarket-based, registered dietitian within one of each participant’s home grocery stores.
